授業中に必要になる表現をまとめてあります。覚えなくていいので、開いておいてください。使っているうちに口が覚えます。

挨拶と返事Greetings

挨拶

基本	Hi! / Hello! / Good morning! / Good afternoon! / Good evening!
調子を聞く	How are you? / How are you doing?
親しい相手に	What is up?

返事

ふつう	I am good. / Good, thank you. / I feel great.
少し疲れている	Good, but I am a little tired.
相変わらず	The same old, same old.

別れぎわ

基本	Goodbye! / Bye! / See you again! / See you later!
次の予定を添えて	See you next week! / See you next time!
くだけた言い方	Catch you later!
ひとこと添える	Have a great day! / Take care!

最後のひとつは、遠慮せずに使ってください。分からないまま黙っているより、日本語で聞いてもらったほうがずっといい。

もう一度言ってほしい

ていねいに	I did not catch that, would you say that again please?
短めに	Sorry, could you say that again please?
正直に	Sorry, I do not understand.

もっと説明してほしい

補足を求める	Sorry, can you explain that some more?
別の言い方で	Could you say that another way?
確認する	When you say…, do you mean…?
ついていけない	Sorry, I do not follow that. / What do you mean?

単語の意味が分からない

直球	What does … mean?
やわらかく	Sorry, I am not sure what … means.

If you did not hear or understand something, say so and ask the speaker to repeat or explain.

自分の言ったことが伝わっていないときWhen You Were Misunderstood

立て直す

そうではない	That is not exactly what I meant.
言い直す	Sorry, I was not clear. Let me put it another way.
否定する	That is not what I was trying to say.
自分のせいにして続ける	Sorry, I did not explain it well. I meant…

ここが使えるようになると、会話が途切れなくなります。通じなかったことは失敗ではありません。言い直せば済みます。

If the other person has not understood you, try expressing the same meaning in another way.

何をするのか分からないときWhen instructions are unclear

確認する

何をすべきか	What should I do?
正直に	I do not know what I should do.
いま何の時間か	What are we doing right now?

Use these expressions when you are unsure what to do. Asking for clarification helps you take part in the activity.

整理する	Let me gather my thoughts.
短く	Just a minute. I need to think about that.
ていねいに	I need a moment to think about the answer for your question.

相手が分かっているか確認するChecking understanding
