Extensive reading: reading regularly at a comfortable level
Extensive reading means reading a large amount of English that you can understand without frequent help. Choose easier material and read more of it, rather than spending all your time analyzing a difficult page.
Choose material you can read without a dictionary.
If a book does not interest you, choose another one.
Choose material slightly below your current reading level.

How to Read
Picture books and children’s texts can be useful starting points. |
Then try reading about topics you already follow in Japanese. |
Prioritize reading more books over understanding every word in one book. |
Keep dictionary use to a minimum. Stopping at every unfamiliar word can make it difficult to continue reading. |
